You're Still Covered

Exodus 16:3-8
Surrender in God is never defeat; it's an exchange that leads to victory.
There's no time like the present to tap into what God is doing in the earth.
Context: Moses has successfully delivered the children of Hebrew from Egypt. Exactly one month out of captivity - have to learn what freedom looks like.
They had an idea of it but now it's a reality.
Food isn't easily accessible like it was before.
Prayer: Help me to receive what you've decided to pour into me.
Surrender to the flow.
Freedom comes at a real price.
As you become an adult, it also changes the lens in which you view your heroes.
From a certain vantage point, you think they are flawless.
Being able to see the humanity in our heroes.
Make room for new, expanded versions of who you are.
Goal: Be flexible enough to do this
Expand your perspective to make room for all a person is and not keep them limited to that one initial expression of who they are.
When we limit God to that one initial expression, we feel uncovered when we move into new seasons.
If you don't know the layers of God, you'll be convinced you.
Unlocking the mysteries of God.
There are layers to who he is.
Not just a God that wants to sustain you, wants to heal you.
Expect the unexpected - don't limit God to the way He's shown up before.
He wants you to understand the layers and dimensions of who He is.
The Lord is my shepherd. (Psalm 23)
Where there was once destruction, there is now restoration.
Seeing the same God with a different expression.
Sometimes liberation releases you into a new dimension you are not able to handle.
Got the breakthrough and now you're in uncharted territory.
Don't know how to sustain what he brought you through yet.
They prayed for the breakthrough but it didn't look like what prayed for.
When they got frustrated, they didn't take their complaints to God. Moses took it to God.
Not just a God of breakthrough, He's the God of follow through.
Wants to show you how to sustain in this season.
God never gets mad at them for complaining - He wants you to bring them to Him so He can show you The way.
Moses went to God.
When you're in the middle, you're still covered.
God must have a plan on how you're going to survive in the wilderness.
Showing humanity's inability to trust that even when we're exposed, we're still covered.
Showing the nakedness of being called into uncharted territory.
The vulnerability, the exposure but also God's ability to show up.
That exposure does not mean that you're not covered.
Expect exposure.
Expect that your vulnerabilities will be highlighted.
Expect you will be put on front street where people are watching, and thinking and growing.
He is using you as a model.
He's refining you - needs the healthiest example for your industry
Surrender to the wilderness; it's designed to teach you and sustain you.
He delivered you so you can walk in power.
He delivered you could carry the weight to build something bigger than you.
You have to resist taking matters into your own hands.
He gave them very specific instructions.
So used to thinking efficiently they thought they had a better strategy than God.
Some of us do too much because we don't believe God will do enough.
God is a sustainer.
We don't know how to rest this lack mentality.
Because you don't trust this new expression, you will over-exert yourself.
Rest in His provision and in His covering.
Your worry is an assault to God's covenant.
To stress, means to not believe God will take care of it.
