The Weight of Obedience

The weight leads to glory.


Trust Him and obey.


Acts 5:27-32

"We ought to obey God rather than human beings!"


Peter and John understood that it was better to obey God.


Disobedience is often costly.

  • It involves uncertainty and sacrifice.


Obedience to God is the highest form of worship.


Activate your "Yes."

  • It will cost you and will be unfamiliar and uncomfortable.


He'll give your peace soul despite your circumstances.


When you obey, God reveals what's working/not working in you.


Acts 4:1

They were arrested because they obeyed God.


Sometimes there's consequences after obedience but there is always a reward.


Whatever He called you to do will disrupt your agenda.


When a new sound came, they moved accordingly.


Acts 4:7

Sometimes the enemy will make you question your own voice.


Peter was filled with the Holy Spirit. (Acts 4:8)


When they saw they were filled with the Holy Ghost, they felt threatened.


Acts 4:17-18

They were commanded them not to speak or teach at all in the name of Jesus.


Acts 4:19

Peter and John answered, "Which is right in God's eyes: to listen to you, or to him?"


There was nothing they could do to them, so they were released.


When you obey God, you stand out like a sore thumb.


God will provide insights on how to maneuver on the job.


They were arrested for praising God. When they were released, they still praised Him.


Acts 4:29

Enable you servants to speak your word with great boldness


Acts 4:30

Stretch out your head to heal and perform signs and wonders through the name of your holy servant Jesus.


The only thing they asked God for was to be empowered to keep going.


Cannot expect everyone to accept or understand your obedience.


Luke 6:46


You already know what to do.

  • The call will keep pulling at you until you obey.


There is always a reward. 🤍


Acts 5:15

People were coming and being healed. (came in a multitude)


Obeying God brings increase and multiplication.


Preach the kingdom and the church will be added.


We become whole and complete when we obey.


Stay in obedience to God.


Can't escape the process when God is positioning you.

  • Moses - God birthed a deliverer.

  • Noah - God instructed him to build the ark.


You've been called to draw people out.


You cannot miss when God has called you out.


God called you to deliver your bloodline.


When the call, calls you - you can't run away.


When God got His attention, the thing he ran away from, was the thing sent to confront him.

  • And, to get him out his comfort zone.


Return to what He called you to do.


He was called in front of the throne knowing his life would be at stake.


Prayer: Lord, help me get to a place of complete and true surrender.


Acts 5:19-20

They were in jail but an angel of the Lord opened the doors brought them out to tell people all about this new life.


When you obey God, deliverance will come.


When God delivers you, He delivers you with:

  • instruction

  • clarity

  • your next assignment

  • peace


Deliverance comes with instructions.


If your mind isn't right, you can't obey God to the fullest.


Acts 5:22

They found no one in the jail.


When people find out you're free, they'll tell everybody. (monitoring spirits)


God will keep you covered when you obey Him.


They weren't letting anyone stop them because they had a revelation of who God is.


Be around people who can test what you're hearing.

  • Find people with discernment who you can trust.


Our emotions get you out the will of God.


Acts 5:25-28

Brought them to the court to be questioned.


Acts 5:29-32

Peter replied with other apostles replied, "We must obey God rather than human beings."


Marry someone who understands the calling on your life.

  • Supposed to pour into each other.


Can't run from what God has place inside you. Understand His plan for your life.


"Be it onto me.." - Virgin Mary


Connect with people that can handle your humanity.


Jesus was perfectly centered in the will of God.

  • Knowing He'd be beaten and broken.

  • He humbled and submitted himself.


He went through spiritual crucifixion before physical crucifixion so he could stay in the will of God.


Strengthen and sustain your prayer life.

  • A strong prayer life is key.


God will allow pressure to press you.


The rewards of obedience:

  • Acts 4:31 "boldness"

  • Souls coming to Christ

  • Peace that surpasses all understanding

  • God will deliver (Acts 5:19)

  • All needs will be met (Acts 4:34)

  • Crown of life.


Full compliance of God's will.


Keep stepping in faith. 🙏🏾
